Brian Merchant of Motherboard contacted me in regards to doing a piece about Basic Income Day and the [successful campaign](https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/24575-basic-income-day-is-1st-of-may?ref=scottsantens.com) I've organized with the help of [/r/BasicIncome](http://www.reddit.com/r/BasicIncome/?ref=scottsantens.com) and our international friends behind [BasicIncomeDay.org](http://basicincomeday.org/?ref=scottsantens.com).

Here's a link to the piece: [http://motherboard.vice.com/read/happy-basic-income-day](http://motherboard.vice.com/read/happy-basic-income-day?ref=scottsantens.com)

One excerpt:

> “\[B\]asic income must be seen as the rallying cry of the 21st century,” Santens said. “Machines were built by man to reduce our labor, and so they should. Let machines do the work, and pay humans to buy what the machines produce, freeing us to pursue what we all wish to pursue—life.”

If this piece gets around enough in time, I wonder if we might just be able to push past a social reach of one million?

We'll see!
